Instagram blocked in Beijing and across China, likely due to protests in Hong Kong

Instagram blocked in Beijing and across China, likely due to protests in Hong Kong
Following protests in Hong Kong, popular photo sharing and editing app Instagram has been blocked in mainland China.
Servers in Beijing, Shenzhen, Inner Mongolia, Heilongjiang province and Yunnan province are currently unable to reach the site, according to blockedinchina.com. There is no news on when the site will be back up (time to add that VPN to your phone).
Many Hong Kong protestors uploaded photos to the site labeled with the hashtag #OCCUPYCENTRAL, a phrase blocked on Sunday on Weibo. It was allowed earlier that day
While news of the Hong Kong protests aren't the most censored topic on China's twitter-like messaging forum, it appears most posts are critical or by state-media such as People's Daily.
"Photos of Hong Kong police being forced to disperse demonstrators with tear gas have been circulated online across the world," one upsetting editorial read. "These activists are jeopardizing the global image of Hong Kong, and presenting the world with a turbulent face of the city."
This is not the first time the app has disappeared from mainland Chinese phones. In July, Instagram was unavailable to download from Android phone stores, although those who had already downloaded the app or had different models of phones could still use it.
The exact number of Instagram users in mainland China is unavailable, but the platform had been increasingly popular in China over the years. The site currently has more than 200 million worldwide users, most of them from outside the United States.

15 people, mostly teens, shot at Miami nightclub By Ralph Ellis, CNN

(CNN) -- Fifteen people, mostly teenagers, were shot early Sunday morning at a Miami nightclub, Miami police reported.
Police spokeswoman Frederica Burden said the shooting happened about 1 a.m. The victims range in age from 11 to 25, and one person was critically injured, she said.
"At this point, we are not sure if we have one shooter or multiple shooters," she said.
CNN affiliate WPLG said the shooting happened at The Spot nightclub at Northwest 64th Street at Seventh Avenue. A large party was being held when shooting broke out.
Witnesses told police they heard about 100 gunshots, WPLG reported.
With so many wounded people, emergency responders had to treat some victims on the sidewalk. The wounded were taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital.
"It turned out to be a mass casualty incident," said Capt. Ignatius Carroll of Miami Fire Rescue.
Burden didn't know a motive.

Snake Boy who has Shed his Skin every 41 Days since he was Born;READ MORE

Ari
Ari has shed his skin every 41 days since he was born 16 years ago. He must soak his body in water every hour - night and day - and smear himself with lotion every three hours to prevent drying out.

Photographer Nurcholis Anhari Lubis, 35, has documented the little boy’s condition as part of an essay project and describes the boy's skin condition as ‘scaly like a snake about to shed his skin’....continue

Mr Lubis told Daily Mail Australia:
‘It’s really sad because he was not born normally and has scaly skin all over his body,
similar to being severely burnt, from the sole of his feet up to his head. If the boy doesn't moisturise or soak his skin in water, his body would shrivel and harden up like a sculpture and he won't be able to move. If he leaves it unattended for too long, he won’t be able to speak because the wrinkles inside his mouth would go hard and it would dry out all his blood in his body.'

Mr Lubis said Ari's family were told by doctors at the hospital where he was born that it did not have the resources to treat the condition, and asked them to take the infant away. He and his family now live by a routine of constant washing and dressing his skin with creams. Still, the boy is trying to live a normal life in his village.

Mr Lubis continued:
'He eats normal food like everyone else and his favourite snacks are instant noodles and crackers. He had trouble making friends when he was younger and would often go and play with the other kids but most of the time, they would avoid him because he is different to everyone else.'

Ari is taking lessons, but is forced to study alone because of ignorance about his condition in the community.

‘No schools are willing to accept him because they fear his skin condition would be contagious to teachers and other students,' Mr Lubis said.

Ari also suffers prejudice because of superstitions in his village. Mr Lubis said many people blame Ari's condition on a superstition that if a woman mistreats animals while she is pregnant then it will affect her unborn child.

Some people believe Ari's mother ‘tortured a lizard’ she found in the family home when she was pregnant with Ari. Ari has trouble talking because of the condition and the vision in his right eye is impaired, while the left must be kept moist with constant drops.

Wiz Khalifa left Amber Rose weeks before she filed for divorce … and the trigger that sent Amber’s lawyer running to the courthouse was an uninvited 2 AM  house call by Amber … TMZ has learned.
Sources connected with Wiz tell TMZ … the rapper is telling friends there’s a simple reason why he left … “I just didn’t want to be married to her anymore.”
We’re told Wiz moved out and got his own place, and the day before Amber filed, she went to his house at 2 AM and found him with another woman … and went nuts.As far as Wiz is concerned … he wasn’t cheating. He told friends he made it clear weeks earlier the marriage was over.
It’s interesting … even though Wiz moved out weeks before … he listed the legal date of separation on his divorce response as Sept. 22 — last Monday.
We’re told Wiz is also convinced …  Amber was secretly banging Nick Cannon — something they both deny
